Model 7 Filter

MODEL 7.

These filters are mainly used to produce a representative and clean sample from liquid streams. They are larger than the Model 4 filters and hence have a use where more filtrate is needed. They are best used in filtering sample containing granular solids.

They are ideal for the removal granular solids in waste water and process samples, such as slurries. The self cleaning action of these filters is similar to the Model IV filters.

Applications are mainly in the Waste Water and Chemical Effluent Sampling. The Model VII filters are used in the Model 8500 agitated automatic backflush filters.

The main applications for simple model VII filters are in filtering high granular solids from liquids. With this type of filter it is also possible to obtain continuous filtrate from a 40% laden aqueous sample. However, viscosity and nature of the fluid and solids must again be considered in any application.

This is an expensive filter but opportunities exist for the application of this filter, it more difficult to recognising them as a potential solution that may be difficult, unless in combination with an application for a Model 8500.

Filter elements are available from 5 to 100µ in a variety of materials such as polypropylene, AISI-316 and -304 stainless steels. [For exact mesh sizes and support requirements consult your local representative].

Filter body materials are available in Polypropylene [Standard], AISI-316 stainless steel and also from PTFE or Kynar [PVDF]. The latter are used for highly corrosive liquids.

The Model VIl filter has a diameter in excess of 150mm and a height of 90mm. The sample by-pass inlet and outlets sizes are 1/2" NPT i. The sample filtrate outlet is 1/4' NPT i.
